Hindley's first win in charge came against his boyhood team Sheffield United in a game that saw Worksop run out 3-2 winners over the Blades under 23s.
Worksop Town were dangerous from the start by implying pressure on each flank however Greenfield and Bishop struggled to pick out Currie in the box. Ex-Blade Tom Charlesworth swung in a ball from the right hand side but Currie failed to capitalise and both teams went in 0-0 at the break.
Jake Currie opened his account for the Tigers three minutes after the restart when his 20-yard shot took a slight deflection, but the shot was going on target anyway. Shortly after, Mitch Husbands pinged a cross-field ball to Liam Greenfield who took it down beautifully and fired a cross on to the head of Steve McDonnell in the 53rd minute. Bright prospect Oliver Greaves placed a fine freekick past Kennedy and handed United a way back into the friendly. Greaves got his second when he skipped through the Tigers backline and rifled his shot into the bottom corner to level the score. However Hindley's men didn't drown in their sorrows as Jed Phillips got the decisive touch from an Adam Scott corner to win the game.
Overall Worksop were the dominant side throughout the 90 minutes and were impressive in play.
