The Owls travelled to Mansfield for their second game of preseason and maintained their winning start as they beat the Stags 3-2.
Wednesday took the lead when Adam Reach beat his marker to put in a cross for Rhodes to head home and score his third goal in two games. Mansfield then levelled when a free-kick wasn't dealt with and George Taft smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Wednesday to the lead in the second half when Tom Lees rose highest to head the ball off the crossbar and into the back of the net to make it 2-1. Mansfield once again levelled in the 81st minute with a header from Bennett at the back post. However it would only take three minutes for Joao to net the winner after Hooper poked the ball for Lucas to slot away.
