Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Queens Park Rangers- Winnall (48)
ATT: 25,537
Lineup: Westwood; Hunt, Lees, Loovens (Winnall), Pudil; Wallace, Bannan, Hutchinson (Jones), Reach; Hooper, Rhodes (Fletcher)

Queens Park Rangers were the visitors to Hillsborough for the second game of the Championship 2017/18 season. Wednesday were the first to have a clear chance as Hooper volleyed a cross into Rhodes who unfortunately couldn’t get a strong enough connection as he headed it into Alex Smithies hands. Worries were in the air as Hutchinson went down injured after a collision with Bidwell, he was replaced by David Jones. QPR broke the deadlock as Wszolek sent Jamie Mackie through on goal to slot under the on rushing Westwood. Wednesday made their second change due to injury as Loovens went down while trying to keep goal scorer Mackie from shooting. The Owls were in search of an equaliser and they went close when Adam Reach squared the ball for Winnall who could only slice wide.
Wednesday were level 3 minutes into the second half when Bannan’s cross fell to Sam Winnall who smashed in the equaliser. Bannan then crossed low for Rhodes whose diving header bounced over the bar. QPR could have taken all three points back to London when Kazenga LuaLua was sent through one on one with Keiren Westwood, however his shot was dragged wide and the game ended level.
