It was FA Vase day and the Tigers fought all game to get their deserved win to go through to the next stage with a goal from Denton and a brace from man of the match Kyle Jordan.

The hosts had the first clear chance of the game when Jack Barnett tried his luck from 20 yards out when he aimed his shot towards the bottom right corner, the keeper saved the shot but spilt the ball into the path of KJ who hit it straight at the shot-stopper.

The stalemate was broken close to halftime when Jordan completely miss timed his shot when Bishop played the ball into his path, however the ball fell into the path of front man Alec Denton who fired past Warren Butlin (proving that it wasn’t a shot from Kyle, just a well timed pass ;) ).

Town almost doubled the lead a few moments later when Jed Phillips headed Woolley’s corner narrowly over the bar and Worksop went in at the break leading 1-0.

Denton and Higginson were both carrying knocks so Hindley replaced them with Turner and Hodder. Worksop were the dominant side in the second half. Bishop flew past the Kirby fullback but dragged his shot across the face of goal.

Worksop made it 2-0 in the 65th minute as Woolley crossed from the wing on to the head of Kyle Jordan who directed it over the keeper into the net. A perfectly executed header from Jordan.

Jordan wrapped up the tie with his second and Worksop’s third, eight minutes from time. Turner won possession on the left flank and skipped past two players before playing the ball over to an unmarked Jordan who took a touch and placed his shot into the bottom corner.

A steady and tight first half however that was in the shadows of how good the home side were in the second. A solid shift from every player. Jason Alexander stopped Kirby from getting even a sniff at goal with his presence in between the sticks by sweeping up their attacks and catching anything in the air that came to him (even though he should anyway being almost a foot taller than me XD ) but my man of the match has to be Kyle Jordan, a brace, an assist and genuinely ran himself into the ground, chasing for every ball and every cause. Excellent
