#GAME18 31/08/17 Worksop Town U19s 4-1 Sports Recuitment USA

Game 18// Thursday 31st August 2017
Worksop Town Under 19s 4-1 Sports Recruitment USA
An impressive performance from the Under 19s proves too much for Sports Recruitment USA as the Young Tigers run out 4-1 winners.
The visitors made to brighter start as Josh Street skipped his way through the Tigers back line however Callum Fielding was quick off his line to close him down and keep out the shot. Street made a nuisance of himself once again as he crossed the ball for Paulos Beraki who could only volley his shot wide.

The Tigers had a good chance of there own as Pritchard switched the ball over to Luke Smith at the back post but the youngster could only head into the side netting.

Worksop opened the scoring when Jack Holden’s first initial shot was saved by the keeper but as the ball came back to Jack he managed to poke it through for Liam Pritchard to slot into an empty net.

The Tigers doubled their lead from the restart as playmaker Jack Holden saw his left footed volley nestle into the bottom corner. Three minutes later, Holden saw his shot parried wide by Tom Molloy as he tried his luck this time with his right peg from the edge of the area.

Worksop added a third with arguably the best goal of the game when highly rated forward Mason Gee rolled his marker on the edge of the box and unleashed an unstoppable curling effort into the top right hand corner out of the goalkeepers reach.

Substitute Bailey Hall added the fourth of the night as he had a simple tap in at the back post. SR USA scored in the dying moments when number 14 Josh Street took the ball down with his chest and struck a thunderous half-volley past Jake Woodward, this was only a consolation and the game ended 4-1.
A very impressive display from the Tigers as they played the ball around perfectly and created many chances.
Now the Worksop Town U19s turn there attention the the FA Youth Cup next week against Garforth Town on Thursday 7th September at Sandy Lane. Come down and support the lads, it would be incredible to break the 100 mark for the attendance next week!!
After the game I caught up with SR USA’s Chris Cousins about his thoughts on the game and how SR USA help young players. ‘I thought it was good, obviously there were lots of substitutions due to it being a preseason friendly for Worksop and it gave us the chance to look at our trailists and get some good footage of them, our lads have never met each other before. It took about 60 minutes for Worksop to get into the game but after that they were the better team and had some good players which I’m not sure if they’re getting a look in for the first team as a couple should be. I really enjoyed it, a great club with great hospitality’.
‘We help footballers go to America to get scholarships. We get players released from professional clubs as well as lads who are good but not with professional clubs and we use matches like today to look at these players, we will work with about 50 players a year. We scout the world and next week we are off to Dubai which will be a bit different to Worksop’.
